New Canadian Routes

Porter Airlines has announced a new route linking Ottawa (YOW) and Victoria (YYJ), beginning with four flights weekly and moving to daily flights on June 16, 2025.

Direct service between Victoria and Ottawa is a welcome new connection between two of Canada’s capital cities. From federal engagement to tourism and exploration, Porter Airlines’ new service offers convenience, efficiency, and a uniquely Canadian travel experience.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of Porter's newly launched nonstop flights between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Kelowna International Airport (YLW).  The service begins with five weekly roundtrip flights and will increase to daily service starting June 23, 2025.

The route is operated using Porter’s new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which includes a two-by-two seating layout, meaning no middle seats.

Kelowna offers travellers year-round activities to embrace the beauty and adventure of the Okanagan Valley.  It’s a must-visit for its scenic views, trails, pristine lakes, golf, skiing, and award-winning wineries.”

The new route connects with Porter flights to Ottawa, Montréal, Halifax, and St. John’s through Toronto.  The new service builds on Porter’s existing routes in British Columbia, which include Vancouver and Victoria.

Stay tuned for more new routes, Porter is growing in Canada.

This world-first retrofitted 787-9 Dreamliner is set to start flying from Vancouver to Auckland twice a week from late May 2025.

This is the first ever full nose-to-tail retrofit of a 787-9 Dreamliner and marks the introduction of the first new onboard product in over 15 years. They have completely reimagined the experience of flying with Air New Zealand, incorporating elegant design elements, innovative Kiwi touches, and features informed by feedback from thousands of customers.

Seven more aircraft are expected to be completed by the end of the year. All 14 Boeing 787-9s in Air New Zealand's fleet will be updated to the new cabin layout by the end of 2026.

Customers can expect an elevated experience throughout the aircraft, with new seats in every cabin, an all-new inflight entertainment system, larger inflight entertainment screens, clever stowage options, and additional privacy in the premium cabins.

Aircraft featuring the new cabin experience will fly predominantly between Auckland to Vancouver, San Francisco, Brisbane and Rarotonga, with more routes to follow as more of the retrofits are complete.
